I recently received the above tracts which read, "Who is Jehovah?" and "Who is Jesus Christ?"
Something we've seen a lot of since we've been here are Jehovah's Witnesses. They are very active. I've seen them knocking on doors, passing out tracts, and the other day they even came to our door. In the past they've avoided our house because a group of them knew that we lived here. They're probably used to seeing gringos since the Language Institute is so close by, and since it's a Christian Institute they must assume that we're Christians.
The two ladies that came to our door were new to us. We talked for a little while. They were knowledgeable of our difference and I of theirs. In the end she said we'd have to agree to disagree. I agreed. Have you ever tried to talk about the Trinity in Spanish? For that matter, have you tried to talk about the Trinity in English? Not the easiest topic in either language.
The shocking thing I found out however, was that both these ladies were ex-evangelicals. How sad. Now they are missionaries for a false belief system with a God who's not a Trinity, a Christ who's not Deity, and a salvation based upon works.
So yes, they're here, they speak Spanish, and they're going strong. Where are you? Are you sharing your faith with those around you?
I know that you may not know how to share your faith, or maybe you're nervous. I understand, I've been there. I learned the hard way by just jumping out there and doing it. It was a hit and miss process over many years but now the Lord has helped me confidently share my faith. Thankfully there are many good resources out there to help you. The Way of the Master is a great tool that I'd recommend if you're having trouble. Also you can learn by hanging out with someone with a passion for evangelism and learning from them.
So get some training or just jump out there, even if all you can do is slobber on yourself and had them a tract, please do it. Pray and ask the Lord to help you. He will!
And he said to them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest." (Luke 10:2)
