This week at our language school is Spiritual Emphasis Week. What a surprise it was to have a professor from my seminary (The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Lousiville, KY) as the guest speaker. Dr. David Sills and his wife Mary were missionaries in Ecuador for many years before returning to the States so he could teach at the seminary.
So far this week has been great and I look forward to hearing him teach everyday. He comes with experience, knowledge, and humility greatly balanced in his teaching. He towers over us all in his knowledge of the Scriptures, but is very down to earth and just a real person. He not only knows Greek and Hebrew (the OT was originally written in Hebrew and the NT in Greek) but has even taught them in Spanish in the past. Wow! We're fortunate to have him here teaching us.

He just released a book called The Missionary Call and brought a box of them for us students. It touches on things like, what is the missionary call, is everyone called to missions, how specific does the call have to be, what should I do if my spouse does not feel called, etc. It looks like a page turner and I can't wait until I can turn some.
