Since 4 out of 5 of us are sick today (I'm the well one) we had church at home. This is the first time we've had to do this so I really tried to get the children into it. I knew it would be difficult to get them to be still while we were at home. So, to make it as much like church as I could I set up chairs in a row. Samuel thought that was really cool.
I put him in charge of music (which involved putting CDs in the player as you see him doing in the picture) and Iva was in charge of the offering.
We started with prayer then we sang two hymns that the group Passion performs on their CD Hymns Ancient and Modern then we sang a song from one of the children's CDs. After we were done singing Iva took up the offering (can you see the bowl she's holding in the picture). She was holding the bowl in one hand but holding out her other for us to put the money in, funny.
After the offering I preached a message from 2 Samuel 7 on the covenant God made with David to establish his throne forever. The application was that the throne of the Son of David, Son of Man, Son of God is established forever. And though the kings that followed David broke covenant the Son of David never did and so is ruling and reigning in justice forever.
During the message I did have to practice a little church discipline on Iva for not minding. This will be the only time I'll get to spank a member of the congregation, even though I may want to in the future. All in all the children did great and Amie was even able to interact with the "sermon", so that made me feel good.

You guys crack me up. Especially the part about church discipline :) The funny thing is we did the same thing today too! The kids loved it and we listened to a sermon of our pastor's that is online. Love you guys and are praying that you all get better soon!
