It was sad to know that one of my students would be leaving. Marlem, in desperation for work, is going to Oklahoma where her brother lives in search of a job. She will have to provide enough for herself, her son, and some to help her mother as well. She didn't want to have to leave, and we certainly didn't want her to, but we're trusting the Lord has her good in mind with all this.
Amie drove her to immigration to catch the boat for Guatemala (cheaper to fly from there) and got this goodbye pic.
It was so encouraging to see her grow over the past year and a half. It hurts to lose, not only a wonderful student, but a good friend of the family.
