Pastor Todd Wilson of Grace Covenant Church in Birmingham, AL (my sister's church) came to visit us this past week. It was great having him here for many reasons. One, he's the first pastor ever to visit us. Two, he's really passionate about missions (he and his wife almost became full-time missionaries in 2001). Three, he was a guest teacher in my Bible training classes. And four, he totally spoiled us while he was here, which we really needed honestly.
His church really loves us and sent a suitcase with him full of food items we can't get here in Belize.

Getting him out to Boom Creek Church to preach was a challenge. The road was really bad in some places. We had to stop about a mile from the church because one spot looked so muddy. We planned on walking the rest of the way when, thankfully, our friend Charlie pulled up in his 4x4. So, we all piled in the back and rode the last mile. What providence!

We made it to church and Todd did a great job preaching about preparing yourself for worship.

Having him guest teach in my classes was a real treat. He taught us about the biblical gospel and warned us about many false gospels. I was so pleased in hearing him teach because much of what he taught served to reinforce truths they'd heard from me. Secondly, all of what he taught was good food for me personally. I felt like a student again.
Though there was so much more that he did and saw I'll end with this photo. Our children fell in love with Pastor Todd. He really took time to get to know them and they all enjoyed having him around. He taught Samuel what "double dipping" is and how to avoid doing it. He read books, bought them candy, and just had fun with them. He'll be a wonderful grandfather one day, I'm sure of it.
Thanks for visiting Pastor Todd. See you again in March, Lord willing.
