I once knew a soldier of the cross. He was extremely skilled, talented, and wise. Many youth and even other soldiers looked up to him and aspired to be as he was. Full of zeal for the King there were few who could stand against his wisdom and skill. He could easily find the weakness in almost any opponent and was quick to expose it.
One day he was moved to the front lines in the great battle for the King. He fought valiantly but was not there long before he was wounded. Removed from the front lines he was disheartened and hurting. Sadly his wound became infected and eventually lead to gangrene. The gangrene also effected his mind and he began making choices that went from bad to worse.
One day after drifting so far from his love for the King he made the most shocking choice of all. He willingly joined the ranks of the enemy he once fought against. He was now shooting at the ranks of the faithful. When those whom he once fought along side of heard the news they fell to their knees in prayer and tears. How could this man who was once a soldier of the cross now be shooting at his once fellow soldiers, his own wife, his own sons, and even at the King Himself?
I hope this story will have a happy ending. Please pray for a dear friend of mine who was once a pastor but has now forsaken Christianity altogether and who is about to throw his life away.

Wow, Cohen, that was well-written. I can tell it comes from a wounded heart. I'm sorry to hear about this. I pray not only that he will come to his senses, but that the many will not become discouraged because of his choices.
Thanks,
Nathan
