Bloody Sunday

Shocking title I know, but I'll explain.

This was our first Sunday to worship at Boom Creek Village. We've worked there in the past with the Farleys who help with the village grade school are also attend the church, Living Word Church. The village is about 8 miles in the jungle so there's no electricity or running water. But there is a very alive church.

Pastor Santos Sanchez also leads the worship. The majority of the service is in Spanish. Bob told me Thurs. that they'd probably want me to preach when I come. Thank the Lord for the heads up.

I preached in Spanish from John 6:53-59 about what it means to eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood. Jesus says in verse 54 that we must in order to have eternal life. A graphic and slightly difficult verse even in English, but an important one.

The service went well. I was understood and two ladies came up afterward to receive prayer.

It was so great to be in that church again. It has been years since our last visit there but it remained in our hearts. I looked over at Amie as we were riding home on the bus and said, "We're here!" Now it feels official.
