In some ways spending time with my students outside of class is just as important as class time. We build a relationship, they share experiences with me they had over the weekend, plus they get to know my family.
This is Marlem. She's one of those providential students of mine. Let me explain. Back in Oct. before classes began she overheard someone talking about the Bible training classes I was going to start. Upon inquiring and learning more she became interested. I interviewed her just a few days before classes began. It was God's providence that she be in my class. She has proved to be a spiritually hungry student very eager to learn.
She also helps run the town ice cream parlor. So on top of mingling with her today we also enjoyed some ice cream. While sitting at the table with us she told Amie about "what a blessing it is that Mr. Cohen has come to teach us."
Honestly, I'm the one receiving the blessing.
