Well...kind of. He's now on the airwaves of Toledo Christian Radio. You may remember from our newsletter that one of my students, Naema Sanchez, works at the station. Recently TCR had a week long Share-a-thon to raise funds for the station. There were many ways that people supported. Some preached on the air, some gave financially, and some purchased air time. That would be us.
We purchased two 30 min. spots each day where we can broadcast anything we like (approved by the TCR board of course). I have enough sermons by R.C. Sproul to last about 2 years. So we're off to a good start. This air time will also allow us a way to advertise for the Bible Institute once it becomes a reality (Lord willing.)
The last night of the Share-a-thon was the big blow out. As you see in the pic. many people came, representing many churches. Myself and our pastor actually got to speak at the microphone which was being put on the airwaves. So, I had my few minutes of Belizean fame. It was a good night and the station exceeded their financial goal.
I'll leave you with the words of the man who thanked everyone that night by saying, "We want to thank those of you who gave your time, money, and those of you who gave chickens." He was serious because you can sell a chicken for a decent price!
