These Four Guys

These are the 4 guys from Boom Creek Village I'm meeting with on Wed. nights for discipleship. Our first meeting went well. They were more open than I thought they would be. Encouraging!

 

They each have different struggles and are at diff. places spiritually. I asked some questions to probe and see how much of the gospel they understood. None could really give me a good answer to the question "Did Jesus have to die?"

 

Once I explained to them why it was necessary for Him to die: because God is a good judge and must punish sin and Jesus took our sin and so God punished him in our place, it was as if the light clicked on in Oswaldo's mind. He said he always wondered why Jesus had to die.

 

 At 8:30pm on a Wed. night, 8 miles in the jungle, in a thatched roof church, under generator run lights, while getting bit by mosquitoes, Oswaldo understood the gospel for the first time.

 

These are the things that make it all worth while. Pray for us all as we begin these meetings.
