The Gift of Service

Marlem is one of my students and has shown great progress in class and spiritual growth as well. She's a widow and on top of that has had to work very hard most of her life. This hasn't made her bitter though, these trials have been used to make her better.

She's been visiting us more often and insisting on helping Amie by cleaning our house. She's been a huge blessing and we've made a point of telling her so. She replied by saying, "Well, you all have been a blessing to us. I know it's hard for you being away from your family and friends. You left a lot behind to come here and help us."

Wow! That really touched us. It's people like Marlem that help us keep going when ministry get tough. Seeing God's work in her life is encouraging.
