Exciting News

Six, that's right 6, new students began their Bible training Monday night. One from their group, Larson, heard about the training through fellow missionary Bob Farley. Larson then went back and told some from his family. So, about 2 weeks ago I had a meeting with 2 of them to tell them a little about the training and see if they'd be interested. When it was all said and done, 4 others from their families had come in to listen and all 6 were interested.
They are all Mayan, just like my other 2 students that take day classes. They're all related in some way and because of this they all want to meet together during a time that is good for all of them. In order for all of them to finish in roughly two years they need at least 4 hours of class time per week. So, they ended up having to pick, well...interesting hours. We meet on Monday nights from 6pm to 10pm. Yep, 10pm! They said they could do it just fine and that they didn't mind either. Their excitement and eagerness has made me not care about the late hours either. Also, since they're all Catholic we're doing the training in their Catholic church building by their houses.
I'm happy to be teaching them, and if Monday night's class is a sign of what others will be like it's going to be a good group. Rejoice with me in this new and exciting news.
