We took a family trip to the zoo recently. They had $5 admission for the weekend so we jumped on it. It turned out to be one of the best zoo trips we've ever had. Here's why:
First, the weather was cool. That always makes life a little better doesn't it?
Second, the animals were happy and active. We got to see giraffes being fed up close, attend a show about birds, which was cool, feed flamingos and fish and turtles.
Third, I saw an old friend from high school. We learned that Samantha and her husband are photographers who want to do mission work and use their skills to aid missionaries. To our pleasant surprise she offered us a family photo shoot absolutely FREE. Awesome! We agreed to take her up on it after the baby's born in Feb.
Lastly, while waiting for the train ride we struck up a conversation with the lady in front of us. Once Amie mentioned Belize she said, "I thought that was you. I was sitting beside you on a plane three years ago and you said you were moving to Belize as missionaries." Wow! What are the chances of that!? Too cool.
So we had a great trip full of surprises.
