Food and Friends

I titled this "Food and Friends" but I'm not actually talking about real food in this first part. I'm talking about spiritual food. Jesus, quoting Deuteronomy said, "Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God" (Matt. 4:4).
A few weeks ago I was able to take another seminary class at the finest theological institute on the planet; the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. It was Old Testament 2, which covers Job-Malachi. It was really good and I just got finished writing a book review for one of the required books. One down one to go. Never before have I read a book and written a paper on it in one week! Thank you Lord!
I had a great week up there in Louisville. It was intense but good. Plus, I got to visit the church we attended while up there, got to share an update with the church, and see old friends. Awesome.

The second part is titled "Friends" because after my week of crazy scheduled class I was invited to stay with an old friend. Adam worked in administration at the Bible college I attended. He was actually the first person I met when I went to check the college out for the first time. Wow, I just realized that was back in 2001. Time flies.
Then he also went to Southern and we shared a class together once. He'll actually be graduating with his PHD this Dec. Lord willing. Yeh, he's smart.
Anyway, Adam, Adrienne, and their 4 kiddos all welcomed me with open arms, literally. It was so nice just to relax with their family, plus Adam really knows how to treat a guy. Movies and food. He took me to the theater about 2 hours after getting to his house. What a welcome! Plus, he set up two different Sunday-school classes for me to speak in at the church he works at.
It was a great weekend. It could have only been better if my family had been with me.
Thanks Southern Seminary and thanks Adam.
