Cultural Cut

This is Godfrey, my new barber. He gave me my first Belizean haircut yesterday. His shop has lots of character. It's basically a room on the right side of his house that you can just walk into. He's got a little red barber's chair with a slanted down mirror above it surrounded by pictures of Jesus. On the other side of his room (left in the photo) there are old tabloids he's cut out. As I was waiting I read about a man born with his head on backwards, that Elvis is still alive, and I got to see a picture of the women with the world's longest finger and toe nails.

After I got home I realized that I must be getting used to the culture because during my cut a 12" lizard (tail included) walked by the door and we just continued our conversation.

So I got a unique experience, a nice cut, and a new friend all for $2.50. Can't beat that!
