Dentist Day.

Well, Samuel had his first trip to the dentist yesterday. He and I got to go together. This is something Amie and I had actually been dreading for a while because he's just now getting to where he won't cry while getting his hair cut.

So I got mine cleaned first and our good friend Diane let him come over and check out what she was doing. That helped. She's really got a way with kids so when it was his turn he was in good hands. They're great folks there at Dr. Stones office. Dr. Stone is a gem as well.

The x-ray, which we called a robot, was first. He sat still and did great. Then he got to sit in the cool chair that moves. At first he was a little nervous but then he got to where he loved it. Then the scraping. He wasn't sure about that either but then Diane showed him what she was scraping off and I think it started to click that she was helping him.

Next he had to go rinse his mouth with a special purple rinse. He had to keep it in until the yellow sand in the mini hour glass ran out. When it finally did he spit it out then began breathing hard to catch his breath. Bless his heart, he had been holding his breath the whole time too! Diane and I both felt bad, but couldn't help but laugh.

Then time to polish (tickle) his teeth. He laughed the whole time! And I thought he would be screaming. He didn't just do good his first trip, he did great! He got his very own battery powered toothbrush (a real nice one too I might add), and two other little toys. He's real proud of them, and we're real proud of him.
